Blooming Yucca 20x16" Rust in Peace 24x18"
Chuck and I open our annual "Texascapes" show at Fredericksburg Art Gallery on Friday, May 5 during the First Friday Art Walk. The reception, featuring Fiesta treats and wine from Carl Hudson and 4.0 Cellars, will begin around 6 p.m. We generally close when everyone leaves, around 8 p.m.
Here is a photograph of our new gallery location, 405 East Main Street. It is a beautiful, historic building, the first two story residence built in Fredericksburg around 1850. You will enjoy exploring the many rooms and hallways in this intimate setting. Chuck and I will be at the gallery on Saturday, May 6 from 1-4 p.m. to paint and chat. Come by and visit!
In April I participated in the "Paint the Town" Plein Air Event in Marble Falls. This was a competitive event with many able artists; the judge was Plein Air Magazine publisher, Eric Rhodes. Chuck and I participated in the Nocturne and the Quick Draw, which was held on Main Street. We had a lot of fun despite high winds and some overcast weather. The Texas wildflowers were in bloom, and recent rains had greened up the landscape. I am including my nocturne and Eric Rhodes favorite.
