El Capitan  24x20                                    Lunch Break  20x16                                 River Residents  20x16

Chuck and I opened our 2018 "Texascapes" at Fredericksburg Art Gallery (405 East Main Street) on Friday, May 4.  These paintings are both plein air and studio landscapes that reflect our trips to various parts of Texas.  Above, you will find several of my paintings from the show..There is a lot of variety.  El Capitan, an imposing and famous Texas landmark near the Texas/New Mexico border, is from a November visit to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.  The park is very isolated, but we enjoyed the grandeur of the mountains, as they rose from the desert floor.  Lunch Break is from a photograph taken in Castell, a tiny settlement on the Llano River between Llano and Mason, Texas.  The inquisitive geese live on the Medina River in the city park of Bandera, Texas.   "Texascapes" will be on display during the month of May.
